12 anime characters with pink hair

The first thing that often comes to our minds after seeing anime characters with pink hair is that they’re cute and innocent. It’s understandable since pink colour and its shades are often associated with cheerful, pure and benevolent characters. These characters usually bring a positive change to others, acting as the ray of sunshine most times.

It’s common to find pink-haired female characters in anime series, but there are also a few male characters with this hair colour. It’s said that male characters with pink hair are the opposite of the pink-haired girls, so instead of innocent characters, they’re perverse.

I can’t say there aren’t pink-haired male characters that are perverse… But I’ve watched a couple of anime where the girls with pink hair are the wicked ones and the boys are the light of hope. Funny, right?

Still, the meaning of pink hair has changed a lot throughout the years and now, we can find a variety of characters with different personalities.

Here I bring twelve anime characters with pink hair!

1. Yuji Itadori – Jujutsu Kaisen

anime characters with pink hair

Speaking of a ray of sunshine, the first pink-haired male character that came to my mind was Yuji from Jujutsu Kaisen. Aside from Gojo and Nobara, Yuji is an energetic and kind-hearted boy that it’s almost impossible not to adore and that’s why he’s one of the most popular Jujutsu Kaisen characters!

Yuji is extremely passionate but can also be pretty stubborn if someone confronts him about his goals or principles. Although he’s a bit naive in the Jujutsu world, he tries his best to learn quickly to adapt to any kind of situation.

Despite being a pure soul, Yuji can also become someone scary if something makes him angry, such as when he witnesses how evil the cursed spirits can be.

2. Homura Momiji – Dr. Stone

Homura Momiji

Homura proved to be an extremely cautious and observant girl while carrying out her duties and she can remember even the smallest details. She’s also a quick thinker and clever because she’s not that easy to deceive.

Homura can also maintain her composure even in the worst-case scenarios, like when she was captured and held hostage by the Ishigami Village. She’s particularly loyal to Hyoga and it has been implied that she has romantic feelings for him. But Homura isn’t entirely evil, plus it seems she loves sweet things.

3. Saiki Kusuo – The Disastrous Life of Saiki K.

Saiki is an introverted character, but that wasn’t the case when he was a child. He used to be mischievous as he liked to play pranks on his parents. Yet, when he grew up, he realised his physic powers could ruin many things, so he decided to distance himself from others.

But Saiki seems to attract people’s attention everywhere he goes and that applies to his classmates as well, so as time passed, he became closer to them. He’s willing to help his friends and doesn’t mind sacrificing himself for their sake.

Although Saiki is intelligent, he’s also a bit naive. People can easily manipulate him with sweet things because he has a soft spot for them. Somehow, I feel that pink-haired characters tend to love sweets things…

4. Zero Two – Darling in the FranXX

Zero Two

When Zero Two was a child, people usually treated her like a monster. Due to the poor treatment, she became hostile and aggressive whenever someone tried to interact with her. Yet, Zero was also cheerful and curious, but that side only came to light when she interacted with Hiro.

As time passed and Zero Two became older, many rumours surfaced about her cold and dangerous attitude. She prioritised her duty as Parasite more than anything and was often sent to the front lines to fight. Due to that, she had no regard for life, not even for her own.

But after spending time with Hiro again and facing some painful situations, Zero Two became more friendly and composed. She started to care deeply for those dear to her, especially her darling, Hiro.

5. Crona – Soul Eater

Crona was broken inside due to the horrible upbringing they had, so it wouldn’t be easy for them to become someone cheerful and kind, right? Well, it makes sense if we consider that they had a psycho as a mother and a demon weapon that whispered horrible things to them all day… Still, this “malicious” non-binary character never wanted to be bad, in fact, they hated to fight.

Crona was forced to carry out the evil plans their mother elaborated. But deep down, Crona still had an innocent soul and wanted to be saved.

6. Akihito Narihisago – ID-Invaded

Akihito Narihisago

After being deeply traumatised by the deaths of his family, Akihito Narihisago drowned in despair and began to have a twisted personality.

Narihisago had a deep hatred toward serial killers, which arouses his murderous urges. He spent most of his time inside the id wells of serial killers to investigate them. Thanks to that, Narihisago understood these people’s minds and philosophies in-depth. Plus, he really enjoys dismantling these people’s perceptions because he knows they’ll end up killing themselves if he does that. Oh well, here we have the perverse pink-haired character…

Despite having a murderous impulse due to his traumas, Narihisago still retains his humanity as he often tries his best to save innocent people.

7. Vanessa – Black Clover

anime characters with pink hair

In Black Clover, Vanessa is portrayed as a relaxed and lazy member who spends her time drinking alcohol and sleeping. But Vanessa is also a very caring person and she usually offers her help whenever her squadmates have a problem. She’s also clever, calculative and conniving when the situation calls for it.

Vanessa didn’t have high self-esteem, but when her squadmates, especially Asta, showed their faith in her, she gained more confidence in her skills. Thanks to that, Vanessa discovered the true power of her thread magic. So don’t look down at her just because she’s drunk most of the time… This witch can be pretty dangerous.

8. Morgiana – Magi

Morgiana

Morgiana is a quiet girl but also quite direct with her words and this can often intimidate others. But actually, she’s a kind and loyal girl who’s willing to sacrifice herself to help her friends.

As a member of the Fanalis tribe, Morgiana is considerably strong, but she has an inferiority complex due to her past as a slave. So she often considers herself weak and useless, even though her desire to help Aladdin and Alibaba is stronger than anything. But as Magi’s story progresses, Morgiana becomes more confident in herself and her abilities.

Also, may I add that Morgiana is extremely cute when she puffs up her cheeks when she’s mad? I really adore her.

9. Kofuku Ebisu – Noragami

Kofuku from Noragami is the kind and affectionate Goddess of Poverty. But don’t let her adorable appearance fool you because she can be mischievous and intimidating at times. If the situation calls for it, she can be serious, plus she isn’t afraid to confront or challenge others.

Kofuku claimed that she also enjoys having fun, but her Shinki, Daikoku, often stops her from causing chaos. So her baby pink hair does an incredible job disguising the true nature of this “cute” character.

10. Yachiru Kusajishi – Bleach

Yachiru Kusajishi

Yachiru fits very well into the pink-haired trope of child-like and innocent characters. She’s small, cheerful and cute both in personality and appearance. But despite her sweet pinky aura, she’s also strong and mischievous.

Yachiru happens to be the former lieutenant of the 11th division in the Gotei 13. Plus, she’s also the president of the Shinigami’s Women Association, although she spends most of the funds on candies and toys… Well, her favourite activity is to eat sweet things too.

11. Mirai Kuriyama – Kyoukai no Kanata

Mirai is a Spirit World Warrior who comes from a lineage of warriors whose abilities consist of blood-manipulation. But that type of ability is considered heretical within the Spirit World Warriors, so she’s not well received by them.

Mirai is somewhat naive and clumsy… Even if she’s a Spirit World Warrior, she’s afraid of killing Youmu. Warriors get most of their monthly income by defeating Youmu, but since Mirai is afraid of encountering them, she struggles to earn her own money. But little by little, Mirai gains confidence in her skills and becomes a strong warrior, though she can be a bit stubborn sometimes.

12. Chika Fujiwara – Kaguya-sama: Love is War

Chika Fujiwara

Although Chika is a supporting character, she became quite popular due to her eccentric and bubbly personality that matches her pink hair splendidly. She’s often the one who comes up with activities to spend time with the members of the Student Council. Yet, she can be oblivious to the atmosphere at times, so she tends to do unpredictable things that ruin her friends’ plans.

Due to her childish antics, the Student Council members see her as a naive girl… But somehow, Chika actually is pretty smart and talented in many areas, such as playing instruments, sports and languages.
