About

Raving Otaku is just as it says on the tin: it’s a place where a rando raves about her otaku hobbies and fangirls over pretty anime boys while making sad attempts of sharing thoughtful reviews of all the series she’s binged.

RV

I’ve loved anime for as long as I can remember. I was told that it’s just a phase I’ll someday grow out of. Unfortunately for them (and fortunately for me!), I never did. I can’t imagine a life without anime. But growing up, trying to find and make friends who share this love for anime and manga in my social circles had been challenging. So while long overdue, I wanted to create this space where I can just unashamedly fangirl and rave to my heart’s content.

While the blog is mainly focused on anime reviews and first impressions, expect to see some manga, figure collecting, cosplay, language and personal (if you really must know) content thrown in the mix. The anime genres I enjoy are wide-ranging, but I generally enjoy shounen, magic, adventure and comedy, so you’ll probably see more of those here.

You can judge my anime tastes here.

Leshy

I’m Leshy, a big fan of anime, manga, games, and food!

I’ve been watching anime for a long time, since I was 5 years old. I would stay up late just to watch anime on TV like Cardcaptor Sakura, Sailor Moon, Hamtaro, and Inuyasha (those were my first anime shows and I would still put them on my top list). In real life, I’m the one who is always recommending series to my friends, talk with people that enjoy the same hobbies. It’s a delightful experience, so yeah, I’m the kind of girl that can talk for hours about anime.

I usually do not have a specific favourite genre, but most of the time I choose to watch shounen, mystery, comedy, shoujo, and fantasy.

People that know me usually ask why I still watch anime being a graduate, but honestly, for me, anime is a world full of interesting things. You can find a lot of situations, topics, genres, and sometimes lectures and inspiring phrases that will just make you want more of it. I’d never get tired of it, and that is one of the reasons of why I am here! I want more people to know about it, we can enjoy it together here. So, anime fans, veterans and newbies alike, or just people that are passing by, I hope you all like my content!

Full-time procrastinator, part-time sleepyhead.

I have a background in Visual Arts and currently work as a Game Designer. The dark side of manga, anime, and video games is my jam. My love for Japanese culture comes from J-Rock and Death Note. Since then, my taste in anime has solidified into the seinen and psychological genre. I also like series that portray the society of a certain era, crime, and ancient Japan.

My favourite mangakas are Junji Ito, Suehiro Maruo and Usamaru Furuya. I die for the artistic style of Takato Yamamoto and Sakamoto Shinichi as well. I owe my love for survival horror video games to Amnesia The Dark Descent. I always enjoy a good horror game (as long as I have company!).

The blogs I write are mainly mature-themed, but you can also expect me to randomly write about kawaii style games and anime. Nice to meet you all!
