INTJ personality’s overview

Commonly known as the “architects” or “strategists”, people with INTJ personalities love perfecting every single detail of their lives. They’re highly analytical, creative and logical, thus, they really enjoy applying those aspects in everything they do. Unfortunately, not many people can keep up with their analytical thinking and that’s why they’d usually find it hard to have people who understand them by their side.

Still, INTJs are independent people who don’t mind acting alone and will make their own decisions without caring what anyone else may think. Therefore, they can usually be labelled as insensitive people because they don’t consider another person’s feelings, plans or thoughts.

INTJs prefer to be successful, relying on their own intuition and discoveries. They aren’t afraid of being disapproved by others or breaking the rules while finding their own way of doing things, in fact, they enjoy it.

For INTJs, life is a game where they highly rely on strategies to win. They analyse every move’s strength and weakness before executing it. It doesn’t matter what kind of challenges they face, they’ll always find a way to win.

• INTJs rational thinking helps them to always find solutions, even for the most troublesome problems. Each challenge is an opportunity for them to hone their skills.
• INTJs don’t rely on baseless assumptions. They prefer to place greater emphasis on objective information, research and analysis.
• They are self-confident, perfectionist and independent.
• Although INTJs are focused people, they’re also curious and open to new ideas, as long as they’re rational, of course.

• INTJs are overly confident in their skills and that usually makes them arrogant.
• Driven by rationality rather than emotions, INTJs are judgemental and value facts over feelings.
• Although INTJs have good self-control, they can become extremely critical if a situation bothers them.
• INTJs are clueless in matters of romance. They’re cynical in this aspect and will question the importance of love and relationships.

Anime characters with INTJ personality

1. William Moriarty – Yuukoku no Moriarty

Since William was a child, he was highly knowledgeable. He always wanted to have the world in his hands, so he could control and plan things as he wished.

William always took into consideration every strength and weakness of his opponents before executing a plan, so everything could proceed according to his expectations. He was also versatile and would modify things if something didn’t go his way.

For William, London was where his grand act would take place. He was a puppeteer while the others were puppets controlled by him and every move he did, altered the course of things.

In my opinion, William from Yuukoku no Moriarty is one of the most evident anime characters with INTJ personality.

2. Tetta Kisaki – Tokyo Revengers

Although Kisaki wasn’t my favourite Tokyo Revengers character, I can’t deny this character was extremely intelligent. Usually, things would end as he planned.

When someone took a step ahead of Kisaki, he would take two to make things work the way he wanted.

Kisaki was an extreme perfectionist, ambitious and a terrifying strategist. That allowed him to have a lot of confidence in his skills too. He wasn’t emphatic or would consider other people’s feelings to achieve his goals.

3. Khun Agnis – Tower of God

Khun from Tower of God is a cold-hearted character with a high intellect. He would become arrogant every time his strategies worked as he planned and took great pride in his skills as well. He doesn’t like to follow the rules, in fact, he enjoys breaking them to achieve his goals, claiming that no one will rule him.

Khun would always plan things relying on external facts of efficient analysis instead of letting his actions be driven by his current emotions. He also likes to hone his skills as he tries to get as much information as he can, figuring their purpose and meaning.

4. Kobayashi Kenya – Erased

In Erased, Kenya proved to have great intuition as soon as he perceived that Satoru was different from how he used to be.

Although Kenya still enjoyed hanging out with his friends, he always had a calm demeanour. He was logical and meticulously analysed each situation before jumping to a conclusion.

Despite being kind at times, Kenya didn’t get easily attached to others as he always distanced himself from troublesome situations. He thought it was better to be cautious and act after analysing the situation.

5. Shinsuke Takasugi – Gintama

One of Takasugi’s most notable characteristics in Gintama was his extreme ambition to destroy the new world. He also showed to be really self-confident in his skills and wouldn’t let others underestimate him.

Despite being a charismatic leader, Takasugi wouldn’t hesitate to punish those who defy his ideals and would use any means to fulfil his goals as well.

6. Merlin – Nanatsu no Taizai

Since her first appearance in Nanatsu no Taizai, Merlin demonstrated having a great thirst for knowledge. She even suspended her age to have all the time in the world to learn and study everything.

Merlin has a calm and analytical demeanour that came to light each time she needed to plan a strategy to fight against her opponents. She rarely lost her composure and this also helped her analyse all kinds of alternatives to emerge victorious from all challenges.

People also found Merlin quite hard to understand. Not everyone could keep up with her non-stop analysis of everything around her. Is there a better example of characters with INTJ personality than Merlin at this point?

7. Nacht Faust – Black Clover

Black Clover‘s Nacht is a logical person who will always consider all kinds of scenarios in advance, as well as his opponents’ strengths and weaknesses. He thinks that if someone loses a fight, it’s their own fault because they couldn’t make a great strategy.

Nacht also stands for his ideals and doesn’t let others interfere in what he thinks is good and whatnot.

Nacht doesn’t mind acting alone, in fact, he prefers to do things that way because he doesn’t like to wait for others to catch up with what he tries to do. He doesn’t mind expressing his thoughts to others without considering their feelings and he’s not afraid of facing disapproval.

8. Mihai Florescu – Kemono Jihen

When I watched Kemono Jihen, Mihai was one of the few characters that caught my attention the most due to his heartless and self-centred personality. Still, I never got good vibes from him because he saw everyone as a chess piece and enjoyed toying with others… But I couldn’t help but think that he would fit amazingly among the anime characters with INTJ personality.

As long as something catches his interest, Mihai would be willing to help others to see what kind of results he can get from that experience. He’s also goal-oriented and would put all his attention on something until he masters it.

Mihai takes great pride in his skills and hates when someone doubts his abilities.

9. Vincent Nightray – Pandora Hearts

Initially, I didn’t know what to think of Vincent because his intellect and manipulative behaviour made him a difficult character to read. In fact, many characters in Pandora Hearts also stated that it wasn’t easy to keep up with him.

Vincent never hesitated to use whatever methods and means he needs to succeed in his goals. Moreover, he showed a lack of empathy as he never considered other people’s thoughts or feelings before putting his plans into action. Everything he did, was for his own benefit and self.

But still, Vincent hated himself more than anything and all the things he did, was to be forgiven.

10. Kaguya Shinomiya – Kaguya-sama: Love is War

Before joining the student council, Kaguya was a cold-hearted girl who acted merely based on rationality. After that, she slowly begins to change and become kinder to others.

Kaguya is considered one of the top students in the academy and is praised for her vast knowledge. But as she fell in love with Shirogane, her goals were oriented towards the romantic side.

Still, it’s quite obvious that Kaguya is romantically clueless, but that may be because of her lack of experience in the love field. Usually, she doesn’t know how to behave when the situation revolves around romance, moreover, she struggles to understand what’s going on.
